When I was 27 I decided to start writing fiction. I took a non-credit class at the SFU downtown campus which had a class called The Fiction Series for the Weekend Student. I started my first draft of my first novel from a photo writing exercise.
Time goes on and on and on and like flipping to the middle of a novel . . .I met my husband in Mexico, flip another page, we got married in 1999, had one daughter in 2000 and another in 2003. Flip, flip, flip . . .
Writing was sporadic. Funny how sleep deprivation and baby bliss detracts from the sustained focus writing requires.
Ten moves later, one move clear across the country to PEI (another story), three career changes for my husband, and we land in Kamloops where we seem to be settling in. We have been here seven years!
