A few months ago, I decided I wanted to learn how to walk on my hands. This might seem ambitious at 30 yrs old coming from the kid who flunked out of gymnastics at age 3 because she couldn’t do a cartwheel…
But life upside-down was calling me and I couldn’t resist. I mean, how cool would it be to take your dog for a walk… upside down? #amiright
Now, as an educator I know that it takes approximately 10,000 hours to perfect a skill #unscientificfact So, I am embarking on “Project 10,000 hours” which in crossfit terms works out to the following mathematical equation (this one’s for you Christine)
a) 10,000 hours / 60 minutes = 60,000 minutes
b) 1 handstand attempt per minute = 60,000 attempts
c) 30 attempts a day for 1 year = 10,950 attempts in 1 year…
= In 5.5 years I will have mastered handstand walking.
How will I know when I’ve mastered handstand walking, you ask? I will be able to walk, upside down, aaaaaaalllll the way around the 200m track at TCC. #shotguntheinsidelane
